Natural latex is the sap drawn from trees that solidifies in the air. It is a mixed emulsion containing ingredients such as protein, alkaloids, starches, sugars, vegetable oils, tannins, resins, gums and much more. Most plant latex is white, but there are also yellow, orange or red latex. Latex may also refer to the ductile material extracted from the sap liquid, or a composition obtained by polymerizing monomers, emulsified with a surfactant.
